When Bikesales first rode the all-new Indian Motorcycle Scout at the press launch in October 2014, we said that it has "a retro vibe with a contemporary beat, which makes it a satisfying machine across a number of levels."
But until now, Aussie customers have had to rely on our word, as such has been the global demand for the cruiser that the first Aussie customer has only just received their new pride and joy.
The recipient is Dave Wallace from Frankston South, who ventured into the Indian Motorcycle store in Elizabeth Street to collect his new Thunder Black Scout from Polaris Industries Country Manager Peter Harvey.
"I first put in my order about August last year, so I am delighted to be standing here now," said Dave, who works for a communications company. "I am flat out at the moment renovating a house, but I will certainly be taking the Scout out for a quick spin this weekend, and then the weekend after I'll be going for a longer ride down to Queenscliff."
Dave rode motorcycles for about 25 years as a young man before giving it away, and then re-entered the game about three years ago.
"I was looking for another bike, and it was actually my wife who pointed out the Scout. I had a good look and decided it was for me."
The Scout is priced at $17,995 rideaway. For more information, visit indianmotorcycle.com.
