Firefighting motorcycles in Dubai
Much like the convenience of a motorcycle paramedic, the ‘Firexpress' BMW will be used for tackling fires in hard-to-reach areasDubai will introduce a nimble fire-fighting motorcycle in the next few months, which will be at the front line of its response team – particularly during peak traffic periods.
The ‘Firexpress’ BMW R 1200 RT, developed in Denmark, will be equipped with two 25-litre tanks filled with foam and water solution, and a 30m hose.
Obviously, that’s not going to make much of an impression on a factory fire, but it’s a start at least....
According to the developers, the motorcycle program has been successfully implemented in China, Singapore and Malaysia, with a similar initiative in place in Saudi Arabia.
