FIFA World Cup Ducati revisited

Stand out on a Socceroos-liveried 999

Following its giant-killing effort at the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, the Australian international football team -- aka the Socceroos -- has done it again, qualifying for the 2010 tournament in after a draw with Qatar last week.

Businesses everywhere are expected to get on board and support the 2010 push as the South African tournament nears, Fraser Motorcycles included.

The motorcycle emporium created a pair of custom Ducati 999 bikes emblazoned with a Socceroos design back in 2006, one of which was sold to star player Tim Cahill. He forked out $55,000 for the Ducati, the proceeds of which went to the Westmead Children's Hospital and Illawarra Kids with Disabilities.

The bike's twin is now on sale to "celebrate Australia's entry into the 2010 World Cup" says the Fraser Motorcycles media release.

It's priced at $30,000 and, if nothing else, other road users will be wondering if Cahill is the rider...

The bike is a 2006 model 999 with a Socceroos custom paint job. It offers 140hp from its V-twin engine at 9750rpm. Peak torque of 109Nm hits at 8000rpm.

To see the motorcycle up close, visit Fraser Motorcycles, corner of Parramatta Road and Concord Road, Concord (NSW).
