Australia's 2016 MX1 champ, Dean Ferris, has re-signed with CDR Yamaha for next year, announcing he'll contest the 2017 MX Nationals, the New Zealand Motocross Championships as well as the Australian Supercross Championship all on blue machinery.
"Returning to CDR was the best thing for me to do," said the 26-year old. "I felt it was really important to continue with the same team and same structure that saw me have a lot of success this year and build on the relationship I have with CDR, JCR and Yamaha Australia.
"I'm looking forward to again working with Craig [Dack] and Josh [Coppins] and getting to work to defend my number-one plate in the MX Nationals."
His season will kick off with the New Zealand Motocross Championships early in the year before heading back to home soil for the start of the MX Nationals series in Australia in March.
The enormously experienced CDR Racing team owner Craig Dack said, for him, it was more than just Ferris' strong results which spurred on the re-signing.
"What really impressed me with Dean this year was how he matured as the season went on," he said.
"He took on advice from the team, changed the way he approached his racing and, to his credit, then achieved the results we all knew he was capable of.
"The first year working with a new rider is always the most difficult as each party works out how things operate, and now entering our second year with Dean I feel we are well placed with him. He knows what makes him tick, he understands how we work, and he has complete faith in our team."
