Australia’s Den Ferris has signed with the US Red Bull KTM Factory Team for the 2014 season.
The 23-year-old completes the four-man line-up together with American Ryan Dungey, Ken Roczen of Germany and French rider Marvin Musquin.
Ferris will contest the 250 SX West Supercross Series followed by the 250cc Motocross Championship aboard the 250 SX-F.
“It’s always been my dream to race in the US and I’m really excited about being given this opportunity with Red Bull KTM,” says Ferris. “I’m especially excited about getting the chance to learn from Roger DeCoster and work alongside Dungey, Roczen and Musquin.
“I have a lot of learning to do so I couldn’t ask for a better, more experienced group to guide me through my transition into the US racing circuit.”
Ferris finished sixth in the 2013 world MX2 title, which included three wins in a row at one stage. He also starred for Australia as it finished fourth in the 2013 Motocross of Nations.
Ferris had signed for MXGP (nee MX1) racing in 2014, but the late KTM offer saw him take the chance to crack it in the toughest motocross and supercross frontier, America.
Musquin will also ride the 250, while Dungey and Roczen will be 450cc campaigners.
The 2014 AMA supercross title commences at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California on January 5.
