CDR Yamaha’s Dean Ferris took his fourth consecutive MX1 overall victory in round four of the 2017 MX Nationals in Horsham, Vic on Sunday, May 21.
Ferris turned in his most impressive performance to date, dominating the action on the mud-laden, rut infested circuit as he won both motos – the first ahead of Luke Clout (Honda) and Luke Styke (KTM) and the second from Kirk Gibbs (KTM) and Todd Waters (Honda).

“Today was one of those days where you had to be smart and I’m glad that we were able to maximise our points," said Ferris. “It was all about getting a good start, and I got two holeshots – I’m not sure if I’ve done that before but it really counted here.
"We have made really good decisions at the right moments and that’s paying off – that’s what’s making the difference at the moment.
“You have to be the whole package – we’re four rounds in and I’m glad that I was able to rise to the occasion today. It’s what you need to do and overall I’m really happy.”

Ferris now leads the championship by 45pts (288 to 243) from Gibbs, followed by Waters (224), Kade Mosig (Yamaha, 223) and Styke (215).
