Federal MP throws weight behind bikes
Luke Hartsuyker recently addressed the House of Representatives on the virtues of motorcycling and associated safety concernsThe Federal member for Cowper, Luke Hartsuyker, recently delivered a speech on motorcycle safety in the House of Representatives under the guise of a Private Members’ Business motion.
Lost you already? Well, forget about the procedural stuff – it did happen at parliament in Canberra which is all you really need to know – and let’s take a look at what the motorcycle-riding Mr Hartsuyker said in his speech, which was delivered on May 28.
The speech is as follows:
Mr HARTSUYKER (Cowper) (20:19):
"I welcome the opportunity to speak on this motion, as motorcycling is a great sport and a great means of transport. Motorcyclists come from all walks of life, and motorcycling is increasing in popularity.
