Fair go Run: March 13

Will be held in Victoria, with riders to dermand the government to adopt the recommendations of the recent parliamentary inquiry

The Victorian Shadow Minister for Roads and the TAC, Luke Donnellan, and the  member for  Seymour, Cindy McLeish, will address motorcycle and scooter riders on the first ‘Fair Go Run’ on March 16, 2013.

The  primary purpose  of the run is road safety. Riders want car  drivers  to  be  aware of, and to respect, vulnerable road users. They  also  want  the  government  to adopt the recommendations of the parliamentary inquiry before the 2014 Victorian election.

Riders from  all  over  Victoria  are expected to attend. Groups will travel from Melbourne and from Wodonga to Seymour via the Hume Highway.

In  Wodonga,  parliamentarian Bill  Tilley MP will  see the riders safely headed south. Mr Tilley is a member of the all-party road safety committee that drew up the inquiry recommendations.

Damien  Codognotto  OAM,  Spokesman  for the Independent Riders' Group said. “Road  safety  isn't  party political. The RSC members did the work.  It's not for public servants to second guess them.  The inquiry recommendations should be implemented now.

“We ride. We pay. We vote. So we want a fair go.”
