F3 ‘most beautiful bike' at EICMA

The MV Agusta gets the silverware as the shrine to good taste, ahead of the Ducati Diavel and Kawasaki ZX-10R

The 68th annual EICMA motorcycle show in Milan has come to a close for another year and, as tradition dictates, it’s also the time when the ‘most beautiful bike’ of the expo is announced.

And this year the gong has gone to MV Agusta’s new young lion, the F3 supersport machine.

Over 12,000 votes were cast in the poll organised by Italian magazine Motociclismo, with the 675cc triple snaring a mighty 38.5 percent of the ballot in its first public airing, to finish well ahead of the Ducati Diavel (20.6). The Kawasaki ZX-10R (8.5) trailed well behind in third position.

Australia still doesn’t have an official MV Agusta importer, so we don’t know when the F3 will make its way Down Under, although we have been officialy told by the factory that "we are still working on the development of a new MV Agusta dealer net in Australia".

Meanwhile, the ZX-10R (which will be on the Kawasaki stand at the Melbourne Motorcycle Expo from November 26-28) will both go on sale next January. We’re still waiting to hear about the Diavel’s status.

In 2010, the Ducati Multistrada was awarded ‘best bike’ at EICMA, ahead of the MV Agusta F4 and Aprilia RSV4.

Over 500,000 people attended EICMA this year, reinforcing its position as the world’s pre-eminent motorcycle show.
