The 2011 Formula 1 Qantas Australian Grand Prix is auctioning off the once-in-a-lifetime experience to ride in a two-seater F1 race car to raise funds to support the Queensland flood victims.
The based auction begins on Monday, January 17 and ends on Friday, January 28. Visit www.grandprix.com.au to find out how to win this adrenalin-charged experience.
“To experience the power of a two-seater F1 hitting speeds of 300km/h is normally a money-can’t-buy opportunity, so by auctioning this amazing experience we hope to raise a significant amount to support Queenslanders,” said Andrew Westacott, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation.
Former Australian F1 world champion and Queensland resident Alan Jones agrees: “This is a fantastic initiative and hopefully motorsport fans show their support in contributing to such a crucial cause.”
The two-seater is powered by a 700bhp-plus V10 racing engine and features a similar chassis construction, suspension, brakes and tyres as the cars competing in this year’s championship.
And a reminder about Carsales' effort to the floods, where $1.00 will be donated from every private classifieds advertisement placed this month on the website.
