Travel is the name of the game for the new Ducati DesertX Discovery, with the model boasting a swag of optional equipment fitted as standard.
Pricing starts at $29,800 ride away, which is more than the $26,400 ride away base model DesertX, but well below the high-spec $36,800 ride away Rally version.
Building on the base DesertX model, the Discovery variant adds heated hand grips, a taller touring windshield, protective equipment, a bash plate, and a centre stand. All of these features are in the name of long-distance comfort and durability.
Also standard on the Discovery is turn-by-turn navigation which is accessible through the Ducati Link App. The function, which was an option on the base DesertX, displays real-time directions on the TFT screen, making navigation easier.
Elsewhere, it is business as usual, with the Discovery packing the same 937cc liquid-cooled Testastretta motor found in the base model. The engine is capable of 110hp and 92Nm, while a full suite of electronics improves the bike’s safety and performance.
The bike features a 21-litre fuel capacity, rolls on 21- and 18-inch wheels, and is equipped with fully adjustable KYB suspension with 230mm and 220mm of travel front and rear respectively.
Ducati Australia says the new DesertX Discovery will be available in dealerships starting in 2024, but it is unclear exactly when.
