A limited number of KTM RC 8C units will arrive on Australian shores in November, with the special production track-only motorcycle available to order online from October 19.
Orders will be taken on a first come, first served basis, with numbers limited to just 24 units for Australia and New Zealand. The bike will carry a recommended retail price of $56,900AUD.
Inspired by the Austrian firm’s MotoGP program, the RC 8C was first announced in July 2021. The track-only machine is powered by the same LC8 engine found in the KTM 890 Duke R, but it is complete with a bespoke chassis designed for racing.
In addition to the race-focused chassis, the RC 8C is also packed with high-end components and equipment that gives customers the opportunity to own a machine that is “as close to a factory race bike as possible”.
Under the lightweight MotoGP-inspired carbon Kevlar reinforced GRP body work is the 889cc LC8c parallel-twin engine that puts out a decent 128hp. The bike also features fully-adjustable WP APEX PRO suspension, with lightweight materials used all round.
Other key race-focused details include a quick-release tank and body panels, lightweight Dymag wheels and Pirelli SC1 race slicks.
There is also a Brembo 19RCS Corsa Corta radial master cylinder with solutions drawn straight from the master cylinders used in MotoGP.
The RC 8C also features race-bred electronics including a AIM MXS 1.2 RACE dashboard and data logger with integrated GPS function. The information is displayed via a 5-inch TFT display with integrated data recording. The data can be logged and analysed in AIM Race Studio.
