Avid motorcyclist and one of Scotland's most famous faces, Ewan McGregor has recently shelled out for a vintage Ural motorcycle so that he can take his dog with him when he goes cruising.
The Hollywood star made his motorcycling passion clear to the world after starring in the 'Long Way Round' where he and his mate Charlie Boorman rode BMW R 1150 GS adventure motorcycles from London to New York.
The life-changing journey covered an exhausting 31,000 kilometre journey that lead them through the heart of Europe and Asia, and then to America.
Obviously not quite as adventurous as his 2004 adventure across half the planet, McGregor's latest motorcycle purchase includes a side car so his pet dog Sid can join him on rides.
"I made sure I had gotten him used to the sidecar first; I didn't just throw him in there and take off. I did it very slowly. Now he likes it!" exclaimed the Scottish actor.
"For a dog, they like having their heads out the car window because they get overwhelmed with the scents. And now the sidecar is like the ultimate head out the window experience."
It is believed McGregor chose the Ural brand because of its sidecar feature and also because of its vintage design. The Russian motorcycles haven’t been changed their visual style too much since they first entered production during WWII in 1941.
