The proliferation of electric motorcycles and scooters in recent years has probably left everyone’s heads in a bit of a spin, but here’s a company that stands out from the pack – evolve motorcycles.
evolve (no capital letter, of course….) is not only about spruiking zero emission transport, but it’s taken that one step further by developing an app (iOS platform first, and then Android), which, according to Gizmag, allows riders to record the journey, upload photos and videos, locate other evolve riders, as well as locating the closest charging stations and offering information on the bike's performance. Riders also benefit from optional Garmin GPS integration.
The company has just launched three new scooters, starting with the flagship ‘titanium’ model, which has a tubular steel frame, 5000 watt motor and universal charging plug. Charging takes around 150 minutes, and it has a range of about 100km with a top speed of 1222km/h.
Next up is the ‘neon’ (3000 watt motor, 80km range, top speed 80km/h), followed by the ‘helium’ (1500, 64, 65). All models are manufactured at the company's New York facility.
