
Entry fees have been announced for the stand alone rounds (ie the ones outside of V8 Supercars) of the 2014 Australian Superbike Championship, and are as follows per class:
In addition, with the championship not visiting Western Australia, South Australia and New Zealand in 2014, the entry fee and Motorcycling Australia levy for participants in those states will be waived.
All New Zealand entrants will also receive a $500 travel subsidy in addition to free entry.
The V8 Supercar rounds will incur higher entry fees, with the promoter, IEG, citing the extra costs of live television coverage TV and garage hire.
The 2014 calendar is yet to be announced, other than the opening round will be held at Queensland Raceway on April 5-6.
A few days ago, it was announced that there would be a change to the superbike regulations for the 2014 season. Now, the following items must remain as OEM manufactured equipment:
Race kit ECUs will remain but the standard ECU may be reflashed. All other superbike regulations will remain as per 2013 Manual of Motorcycle Sport.
The updated superbike regulations incorporate aspects of the previous Superstock 1000 class (aka Prostock), which will now be discontinued.
