What would happen if a Triumph Speed Triple had a brief affair with a slightly munted Ducati? It might look something like this...
British engineer Jim Lindsay has been working on the Enigma 1050, a motorcycle that will eventually be available to customers in mid-to-late 2012, and perhaps even as a knock down kit bike.
What started life as a low kilometre Triumph Speed Triple has taken on a new form, with the 1050cc engine and ancillaries kept intact, but a bespoke Tigcraft frame (weighing just 8.1kg) and swingarm holding everything together.
From there Lindsay needed suspension and wheels, so carbon fibre Dymag wheels and K-Tech suspension were integrated into the design.
AP Racing brakes will take care of decelerating the bike.
Lindsay says the idea behind the semi-naked bike was to built a top quality British bike that was a comfortable bike on the road, but had enough heat to cut the mustard on the race track.
If the bike is offered as a kit, it would make shipping it to other countries (such as Australia potentially) a lot easier, and would also bring down the price on the motorcycle.

Testing on the first prototype bike is scheduled for April 2012 and production models could be ready in the second half of 2012.
