Vespa has unveiled its updated electric scooter range at EICMA 2026 in Milan, introducing a new motor developed and manufactured in Italy by parent company Piaggio Group. The new electric range comprises the Primavera Elettrica, Sprint S Elettrica and Primavera Tech Elettrica, all featuring a redesigned motor with modular architecture and improved efficiency.
According to Vespa, the new motor contains no components made from rare-earth materials, while a revised speed sensor is designed to improve control and responsiveness.
The Primavera Elettrica and Sprint S Elettrica are classified as mopeds, with a maximum speed of 45km/h. Both offer improved acceleration from a standstill and a claimed range of up to 85km in Eco mode, with removable batteries for easier charging.

The higher-performance Primavera Tech Elettrica has a maximum speed of 67km/h and benefits from a revised Vehicle Management System and more efficient charging equipment.
Vespa claims its WMTC-tested range has increased by 12.5 per cent to 90km, extending to 100km in Eco mode. The new charger reduces electricity consumption from the mains by 17 per cent, with a claimed charging time of approximately 2.5 hours from zero to 80 per cent.
The Primavera Tech also receives a new five-inch TFT instrument display showing battery charge, remaining range and energy recovery information, along with smartphone connectivity and navigation through the Vespa MIA system. Keyless ignition, remote seat opening and additional LED courtesy lighting are also included.

Meanwhile, Vespa has introduced further equipment upgrades across its petrol-powered GTS range. The standard GTS gains a five-inch colour TFT display, bringing digital instrumentation to the entire family, while keyless ignition is now standard across all variants. Smartphone connectivity through Vespa MIA is available either as standard or optional equipment, depending on the model.
The GTS Super and SuperSport receive lined underseat storage compartments, while the SuperSport also gains courtesy lighting in the inner leg shield. Vespa has expanded its colour options and introduced the Officina 8 treatment to the GTS, drawing inspiration from Piaggio’s historic experimental department in Pontedera.
The existing Vespa (RED) collaboration also extends to the new-generation electric range, with distinctive red bodywork and detailing. Australian pricing and availability for the updated models have yet to be announced.
