Developed around the theme of a “sports model that can be fully enjoyed from the circuit to the street,” Suzuki has launched its headline act at EICMA – the GSX-10R.
Built around what appears to be the perfect accompaniment for its intended use – the revered long-stroke K5 engine (150hp/106Nm) that already appears in models such as the GSX-S1000, GSX-S1000GX and GSX-S1000GT – the GSX-10R has a compact, lightweight chassis, highly refined suspension, advanced rider-assist technologies, and a sporty, forward-leaning riding position.
In fact, the riding position is similar to the GSX-R1000R’s, so it will certainly enjoy the thrill of the hunt in what’s expected to be a livewire package – but still a rung below the manic intensity of a full-house litre-class sportsbike.

The seat isn’t quite as aggressive as the GSX-R1000’s, in keeping with its more versatile nature, while other features include a newly developed turn signal system, a full-colour TFT display, smartphone connectivity and a long-life lithium-ion battery.
The Suzuki Intelligent Rider System is equipped with 15 electronic control systems to support riders across a wide range of scenarios. The company’s first-ever slide control system is part of the suite, as is the company’s first brake hold control system – which functions on flat ground and downhill slopes as well as hills.
The 214kg GSX-10R will join Suzuki’s local Supersport range alongside the GSX-8R, GSX-R1000 and GSX-R1000R, with Suzuki Australia still to announce pricing or an arrival timeline.
