EICMA: MV Agusta Brutale 800 RR

Tightening emission laws means updated Brutale 800 RR is headed our way

MV Agusta chose its home show of EICMA in Milan as the stage to debut its updated Brutale 800 RR, or what it prefers to call “the most beautiful naked of all time.”

The revised engine is good for 140hp and 86Nm and includes a host of new componentry aimed at reducing noise “generated by the combustion”, the firm says. Noise reducing components consist of a harmonic damper, a new mechanical cam-chain tensioner, new camshafts, new valve guides and all housed in a redesigned cylinder head.

Lower down, the 2017 Brutale 800 RR gets noise reducing engine cases, a new starter motor as well as a new countershaft and primary gear drive.

As well as the introduction of a multi-directional quickshifter, the throttle unit has been updated, as has the instrument panel which now includes a on-board diagnostic functionality.

Styling wise, it’s a reshaped headlight profile, a retractable passenger grab rail as well as LED taillights and indicators.
