Two years ago it was a compact V-three engine in a rolling chassis, last year we saw the prototype at EICMA, and in 2026 Honda’s taken the wraps off a planned production version of its revolutionary V3R900 E-Compressor naked.
Honda says that “development is proceeding at speed”, and in a functional sense that means final design lines are in.
The production model will feature a titanium fuel tank, exhaust pipes and muffler, and the latest evolution of Honda RoadSync with AI integration – connectivity smarts which Honda will also introduce on other models over the next few years.

But it’s the innovative engine where the real interest lies, with the 75-degree, water-cooled V3 housing a unique electronically controlled compressor to deliver instant torque from low rpm by controlling compression of the intake air irrespective of engine speed.
According to Honda, this allows a 900cc engine to achieve performance commensurate with that of a 1200cc design.
The compressor feeds the intake directly rather than relying on exhaust gases or mechanical drive, eliminating the need for an intercooler and allowing a compact overall layout.
