Following on from its Tokyo Motor Show unveil as a then concept model, Honda has whipped the covers off a production version of the CRF250L Rally in Milan overnight.
Unveiled alongside its updated and standard CRF250L counterpart — which gets revised fuel mapping, a lighter exhaust, a new airbag and throttle body, as well as a nacho and fuel gauge as part of its new instruments — the Rally version gets a host of Dakar-inspired accessories to essentially turn it from a 250cc enduro bike into a lightweight adventure bike.
It gets a two-channel ABS system as standard fitment and allows the rear ABS to be switched off and, according to Honda, the Rally’s floating screen is straight from the parts bin of its 450cc Dakar racer.
There’s a larger fuel tank over the standard model, a 43mm Showa fork which offers more suspension travel, it’s got a higher seat height at 895mm, a larger front disc and a skid plate.
The Rally gets a lot more bodywork, almost to the point of being fully enclosed, while the larger radiator shrouds will offer better weather protection over longer distances. There’s an asymmetrical headlight, and all the lighting is by way of LED.
No word as yet when or if both versions of the CRF250 will be available in Australia.
