EICMA: Ducati broadens its portfolio with five new models

The DesertX Rally and limited-edition ‘SP’ Panigale and Streetfighter lead the chorus of excitement

Ducati had already unveiled a collection of new models at its Ducati World Première 2027 events, but it still saved some tasty offerings for the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan.

Five new models are on the Ducati stand at EICMA: the new Diavel V4, DesertX Rally and the exclusive Panigale V4 SP, Panigale V2 SP and Streetfighter V4 SP.

The DesertX Rally adopts the new technical platform for the DesertX family, built around the 890cc V2 engine, a monocoque frame and full-floater rear suspension.

The twin-cylinder engine delivers 82kW (110hp) and 92Nm, while the DesertX Rally has long-travel, closed-cartridge KYB suspension. The Takasago Excel rims – a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear – are tubeless, and weight (without fuel) is 209kg. Price is $32,825 ride away.

The Diavel V4 family is pure muscle, and in Milan the base Diavel V4 ($45,925 ride away) was unveiled with a design inspired by the Diavel V4 RS – utilising elements such as new air intakes, a redesigned single-seat tail section, new wheels and styling tweaks.

The major new addition is the Diavel S version ($50,425 ride away), which returns to the range for the first time in the V4 engine era. It stands out for its Ohlins SmartEC-3 semi-active electronic suspension, as well as a lithium-ion battery, heated grips and dedicated finishes for the alloy wheels.

MY27 also marks the debut of the ‘Ducati Factory Made’ program on the Diavel, allowing customers to configure their bike directly from the factory at the time of purchase.

The Diavel family’s V4 Granturismo engine returns, updated with a new electronic control system and quickshifter.

Now onto even more bonkers performance in the shape of the limited-edition Panigale V4 SP ($61,500 ride away), Streetfighter V4 SP ($57,525 ride away) and – admittedly at a lesser horsepower degree – the Panigale V2 SP ($30,325 ride away).

The former is designed to offer the ultimate track experience for track-day enthusiasts; the Streetfighter V4 SP takes the halo as the pinnacle of the Streetfighter range; and the Panigale V2 SP has been developed as a homologation special to compete in the FIM Supersport World Championship.

The Panigale V4 RS, based on the Panigale V4, has carbon-fibre wheels, a dry clutch, racing gearbox, dedicated race-derived components, Ohlins Smart EC 3.0 suspension and a new aerodynamic package with larger wings and corner sidepods.

The Panigale V2 SP has Öhlins suspension, a longer swingarm to improve stability and precision, lighter forged wheels and a dry clutch.

The Streetfighter V4 SP features the traditional‘Winter Test’ livery, and distinctive features include carbon-fibre wheels, a dry clutch, adjustable footpegs and the latest-generation electronic Öhlins suspension.

Ducati also previewed the new Desmo250 EDS enduro bike at EICMA, while it wasn’t all fever pitch: new liveries were also presented for the XDiavel, Scrambler Full Throttle and Multistrada V2, Hypermotard 698 Mono RVE and Hypermotard V2 RVE.
