One year after surprising EICMA crowds with a rolling chassis housing a compact V3 engine and electric compressor, Honda has returned to Milan with a fully realised version called the V3R 900 E-Compressor Prototype.
The 75-degree, water-cooled V3 now carries a confirmed 900cc displacement and introduces what Honda describes as the world’s first electronically controlled compressor fitted to a motorcycle.

The system allows precise management of boost pressure, giving the V3 engine high-response torque from low revs and performance said to rival a 1200cc unit while maintaining efficiency. The compressor feeds the intake directly rather than relying on exhaust gases or mechanical drive, eliminating the need for an intercooler and allowing a compact overall layout.

Visually, the prototype features asymmetrical side fairings and debuts Honda’s new ‘Flagship Wing’ tank emblem, which will begin appearing on production models next year. The design blends functional aerodynamics with a glimpse of Honda’s next performance direction, reaffirming that forced induction remains on the company’s development radar.
While the V3R 900 E-Compressor remains a prototype, with development continuing it should only be a matter of time before Honda’s experimental V3 concept evolves into a production-ready model. Stay tuned.
