Bikesales’ admiration for the Aprilia has a long and award-winning history, with 2017 a zenith when it was awarded the Bike of the Year top prize.
In Milan this year, the Aprilia stand – like most manufacturers – was buzzing with new releases galore, but the updated Tuono V4 in both standard and Factory guises certainly piqued our interest.
Updates to the raucous V4 include larger 52mm throttle bodies and an increase in displacement from 1077to 1099cc, with maximum power boosted from 175 to 180hp (134kW) at 11,800rpm.
The aerodynamics include a new double-surface front wing profile, while the side panels and tail are newly designed. Heat dissipation has also been improved, the switches are now backlit, the TFT screen is updated, and a lithium-ion battery reduces weight.
The electronics are completely revamped, featuring a new predictive algorithm section that anticipates control intervention based on data gathered from the six-axis inertial platform.
New control packages make their debut – Track Pack and Comfort Pack – included on the Factory model and optional on the standard model, while a Race Pack is the exclusive domain of the Factory, it’s track focus obvious with corner-by-corner track mapping and preferences galore in the control settings and Ohlins semi-active suspension. This functionality was previously reserved for race bikes only.
The machines are due in Australia around mid-2025.
