Ducati has pulled the covers off the new 2023 Ducati Scrambler, with the latest chapter from the Italian brand’s ‘Land of Joy’ – as the company applies to its retro Scrambler range – boasting a range of updates and improvements.
Ducati says the 2023 Ducati Scrambler line-up represents a new generation, with the air-cooled L-twin ‘Desmodue’-powered platform comprising three separate variants: the Ducati Scrambler Icon, Ducati Scrambler Full Throttle, and Ducati Scrambler Nightshift.

While the Ducati Scrambler family’s essential retro naked format continues, the new line-up now boasts a full LED lighting package, including the indicators and redesigned front headlight, along with a redesigned steel fuel tank with interchangeable covers. The latter affords even easier customisation, says Ducati, and is complemented by anodised aluminium covers below.
Ducati says the instrumentation is new too, with the Scrambler equipped with a 4.3-inch colour TFT display, while the new clutch and alternator covers features a distinctive ‘X’ logo, complementing the styling of the front headlight.
The trellis frame is all new, says Ducati, and makes a significant contribution to the Scrambler weighing in at 4kg lighter than its predecessor. The swingarm is new too, while the monoshock adopts a more centralised position within the bike.
The chassis changes continue with the rear subframe being separate to the main chassis, while the 18-inch front/17-inch rear wheels adopt a new design.
On the power front, the Desmodue L-twin is 2.5kg lighter and features a new clutch with a lighter feel at the lever, while a new ride-by-wire throttle aids response and ushers in both traction control and two ride modes: Road and Wet.
Cornering ABS is standard throughout the range, while a bidirectional quickshifter is standard on the Full Throttle and optional on the Icon and Nightshift. The Ducati Multimedia System is also available as an option.
A total of nine different liveries are now available for the 2023 Ducati Scrambler Icon, while the racy Ducati Scrambler Full Throttle comes exclusively in a striking GP19 Red/Dark Stealth format. The Ducati Scrambler Nightshift comes in Nebula Blue.
Of course, the new Ducati Scrambler range will launch with a comprehensive array of genuine accessories, encompassing everything from a Termignoni exhaust, to footpegs, mirrors, soft luggage and more, along with a dedicated range of Scrambler clothing.
Ducati Australia says the new Scrambler range will reach our shores in the fourth quarter of 2023, with ride-away pricing from $18,000.
