Honda has chosen this year’s EICMA show in Milan to unveil a new 350cc adventure-style scooter, while also confirming that the Hornet name will be relaunched in “the near future”.
The ADV350 scooter comes on the back of the 750cc X-ADV which, while popular in Europe, never made it to Australian shores. And while it’s still yet to be seen whether the 330cc single-cylinder version will crack the Aussie market, it has the potential to offer Aussie commuters some decent practicality.
As well as underseat storage large enough to stow two full-face helmets, it boasts an adjustable screen, upside-down fork, decent ground clearance and USB charging capabilities, as well as ABS and traction control.
The ADV350, which is available in silver, grey or red, rolls on relatively large 15-inch tyres, complete with a block-pattern tread to complete the so-called adventure look.

Meanwhile, Honda used 3D projection technology to give onlookers a glimpse into the type of machine it will use to revive the popular Hornet moniker. Looking every bit the naked streetfighter with which the name became synonymous in the early to mid-2000s, don’t be surprised if the firm launches a sub-brand of nakeds across a wide range of capacities.
Elsewhere, the firm announced new colours for its SH125i, X-ADV, Forza 125, Forza 350, CB650R, CBR650R, CMX500, CMX1100 and Gold Wing models.
