Kawasaki beat its Japanese rivals to market with radar-assisted electronic rider aids when it whipped the covers off the 2022 Ninja H2 SX at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan overnight.
The updated sportstourer boasts Bosch’s Advanced Rider Assistance System which, as well as adaptive cruise control, facilitates the addition of blind-spot detection and forward collision warning, the first of its kind on a Japanese production bike.

Other new rider aids for the 2022 model year include hill-hold control and and emergency stop signal, which will see the brake light start to flash once a certain amount of pressure is applied to the brakes to reduce the risk of a rear-end collision.
The updated H2 SX also gains an updated 6.5-inch full-colour TFT dash complete with infotainment capability and smartphone connectivity, while a new master key proximity system allows for remote activation of both the steering lock and ignition.
The firm’s Versys 650 has also received some updates as part of this year’s EICMA unveilings, starting with redesigned bodywork and a windscreen in a bid to increase weather and protection for the rider. The new screen is four-position adjustable over 80mm, while a new 4.3-inch TFT colour dash completes the notable improvements.
