EICMA 2021: Honda NT1100

Further details announced for Honda’s new parallel-twin-powered, road-going sportstourer

After breaking cover last month, Honda used the EICMA Motorcycle Show in Milan to release official specs of its new NT1100 tourer.

Honda has aroused plenty of interest with its new sportstourer, the NT1100

It’s the third model to be powered by the firm’s 1100cc parallel-twin engine found in both the Africa Twin adventure bike and the CMX1100 cruiser. This time, the 100hp (74kW) and 104Nm engine is wrapped in an all-day touring package complete with relaxed ergonomics and decent weather protection.

Roomy ergonomics, good weather protection, and Honda is hinting at an excellent fuel range too

A relatively short wheelbase, 17-inch wheels and short-travel Showa suspension illustrate its road-going intentions and separate it from the Africa Twin’s more adventurous aspirations. And features such as panniers, heated grips, five-way adjustable screen and cruise control give the NT1100 some decent mile-munching credibility.

As well as a really accessible 820mm seat height, a full-colour and customisable 6.5-inch TFT dash guides the way and offers both Apple’s and Android’s connectivity software. There’s no word on the capacity of the fuel tank, however Honda says a 400km of range isn’t out of the question.

The NT1100 has a mixture of TFT and digi LCD instrumentation

Electronics are limited to three selectable rider modes and conventional traction control and ABS systems, but it should result in a relatively inexpensive touring option among of sea of high-tech options from rival manufacturers.

It’ll be available in three colours – grey, white or black – with no official word yet on Australian pricing or availability.
