Innovative Swedish brand Cake has redefined practical emission-free transport with its new range of utilitarian electric two-wheelers, announced at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan this week.

According to the brand, the top beam of the frame – or central utility bar – was inspired by a workbench. Using the specific quick-lock attachments and modular accessories, the rider can customise not only its wide array of carrying capabilities to suit his or her specific needs, but also the location of the seat in order to accommodate larger items.
As well as providing power to the motor, which spins the rear wheel via the belt final drive, the new higher-capacity swappable battery boasts conventional, USB and 12-volt power outlets, to allow the user access off-grid power.
“Any industry that handles large volumes of short-haul transportation of both people and goods understands the daily struggle with traffic jams, parking fines, and the need to find both economical and sustainable fossil fuel-free vehicles,” Cake CEO Stefan Ytterborn said.
“We truly believe that the future for last-mile deliveries will be electric and run on two wheels.”
There’s no word whether we’ll see Cake officially available in Australia, but given how many tradies are getting around in oversized utes, the firm’s new three-tiered range would only mean good news for our congested cities.
