As expected, Benelli used the EICMA show in Milan to unveil its new TRK800 adventure bike. Powered by an eight-valve 754cc fuel-injected parallel-twin engine, the show bike marks a considerable step in both form and function over the popular TRK502.
From what we can see, the tubular-steel chassis looks like the same one used on its Leoncino 800 retrobike sibling, while fully adjustable Marzocchi fork looks after the front suspension duties which results in 170mm of travel at each end. The 19-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear are slowed by a good quality Brembo braking package consisting of twin 320mm front discs and radial-mounted calipers.
The parallel-twin engine is said to be good for 76hp of power and 66Nm of torque, the fuel tank has a capacity of 21 litres and info is beamed back to the rider by a seven-inch LCD dash. In terms of electronics, details are scarce, but conventional ABS and traction control system is included.
Given the TRK502 and more off-road focussed 502 X outsold BMW’s R 1250 GS range in Italy during the first half of 2021, there were worse places than Benelli’s spiritual home of Italy to host the global unveiling of the higher-capacity TRK800.
