On the eve of the official opening of the EICMA international motorcycle show, Yamaha used a live Facebook video to release news of updates to its 2020 line-up.
The 2020 Yamaha Tracer 700 has been given a styling update, bringing it more in line with the firm’s still yet-to-be released Ténéré 700.
As well as the small, twin headlight setup, the middleweight Tracer gets a new screen and bodywork, updated instruments – though still not a TFT-style affair – and LED indicators which are integrated into the handguards.
As well as a new sculpted seat for both rider and pillion, the 2020 Yamaha Tracer 700 version also gains adjustable suspension at both ends.
The 2020 Tracer 700 will also be the first of the firm’s 698cc parallel-twin platform to receive Euro 5 compliance, which has been achieved by updating the fuel injection system and the air-intake, as well as tweaking the exhaust.
Now in its seventh generation, Yamaha’s TMAX scooter gains more cubes, cleaner emissions and an updated Tech MAX variant heading into its 19th year of production.

Now 562cc, both models are powered by a parallel-twin engine which is 32cc larger than the outgoing model, complete with a new CVT belt and revised gearing. The TMAX can also now boast rider modes, keyless ignition and LED lighting.
To compete with BMW’s new middleweight scooter offerings, Yamaha will throw the TMAX Tech MAX (yes, really) into the market mix for 2020. Benefitting from the latest swag of updates, the Tech MAX will also boast fill connectivity, heated seat and grips, cruise control and adjustable rear suspension.
