Yamaha has officially unveiled the all-new Ténéré 700 lightweight adventure bike which we’ve known has been in the company’s production plans for the last 12 months.
Due in Australia in late 2019, the Tenere 700 (aka the XTZ700) has a 689cc parallel twin engine straight from the MT-07 with maximum torque at 6500rpm. Yamaha claims a 350km-plus range from the 16-litre fuel tank.
The machine also has a double-cradle tubular steel frame, slim body, stacked LED lights, fully adjustable long-travel suspension, switchable ABS and plastic handguards. Front suspension travel is 210mm, and the rear is 200mm, while ground clearance is 240mm. The seat height is 880mm.
Pirelli Scorpion tyres are standard fitment on the 21 and 18-inch spoked wheels, while in the cockpit the instrument panel is an LCD design and features information including gear position, fuel level, two trip meters and estimated fuel range, as well as average and instant fuel consumption and more. The Tenere 700 is also designed to accommodate the fitment of aftermarket navigation devices.
The new Ténéré 700 will be available late 2019 in Ceramic Ice, Competition White or Power Black. Price will be announced closer to the release date.
