MV Agusta’s Serie Oro (gold series) machines have been a part of the company’s DNA for while now, but this latest release may just about be the most astonishing one yet – the Brutale 1000 Serie Oro.
Using a wealth of design and technology from the 1000 F4 RC sportsbike and the company’s world superbike program, the Brutale 1000 Serie Oro is a serious powerhouse, with the 998cc in-line four-cylinder engine producing a claimed 208hp and 115.5Nm. It’s now the most powerful naked sports bike in the world, clearly eclipsing machines likes the BMW S 1000 R and KTM 1290 Super Duke R.
If you add the dedicated racing kit – an SC-Project titanium exhaust system and ECU – into the Brutale 1000 Serie Oro mix, then power increases to a mind-boggling 212hp. And bear in mind, it’s only naturally aspirated… Bonkers, really.
The standard SC Racing exhaust is still a trick piece of kit and, as you’d expect from such a firebrand engine, the internals are WorldSBK-spec and include titanium valves. There’s also a redesigned combustion chamber and airbox, revised cam timing and profiles and low-friction Asso piston rings.
There’s been nothing left behind in MV’s electronics cupboard, and the Brutale 1000 Serie Oro has it all: multiple riding modes, traction control, ride-by-wire throttle, bi-directional quickshifter, cornering ABS, launch control and anti-wheelie control control, all governed by the bike’s ECU and IMU functions.
Brakes are Brembo’s finest Stylema calipers, and the suspension by Ohlins: electronically adjusted forks and a TTX36 shock.
There are even wings! Similar to what we’ve seen in MotoGP competition over the last few years, MV says they improve high-speed stability and load on the front wheel.
Only 300 units will be built – you’ll be seeing more and more of this limited-edition fare from MV Agusta – so if you’re keen contact your local dealer ASAP to register your interest.
No idea on price or local availability at this stage.
The machine will be on display at the EICMA show in Milan from November 8-11.
