Santa Cruz-based electric motorcycle manufacturer Zero has laid the
foundations for more success in 2017, introducing an unlimited mileage
battery warranty as well as an updated Z-Force interior permanent magnet
that will feature across the entire range.
The motor has
increased temperature thresholds and greater efficiency, and more
importantly there are torque increases across the board, including an
impressive 157Nm on the Zero SR and Zero DSR.
The Zero Motorcycles range also includes the Zero S, Zero FX and Zero FXS Supermoto.
The
Zero S and Zero DS are also now available in 'ZF-6.5' light versions,
which introduce new, compact power packs that are claimed to save more
than 45kg over the standard power packs. And the smaller battery opens
up more storage space.
On the aesthetics front, the Zero S, Zero
SR, Zero DS and Zero DSR are now finished in premium paint, replacing
the previous bodywork with moulded-in colour.
There's a new
carbon-fibre drive belt (except the Zero Z ZF13.0), which is both wider
and stronger, while there's a upgraded, locking, weather-resistant
storage compartment in the “tank” area on the Zero S, Zero SR, Zero DS
and Zero DSR. This secure trunk locks using the ignition key.
Finally,
the 2017 Zero FX and Zero FXS feature a new, integrated power pack that
reduces weight and cost. The modular battery system remains available
for those who prefer to quickly and easily swap batteries.
