As we expected , Suzuki has added the retro-styled SV650X to its line-up from 2018, using this week’s EICMA motorcycle expo to break the news.
Dubbed the SV650X, it’s mechanically unchanged from the current SV650 nakedbike and will be offered in both a full-powered version as well as a LAMS-approved variant.
Powered by the same 645cc 90-degree V-twin as in the standard machine, the unrestricted version is good for 75hp and 64Nm of torque while the LAMS-approved option offers 47hp and 57Nm of torque, with the peak torque chiming in 4000rpm earlier than on the full-powered version.
As well as the bikini fairing, the clip-on handlebars and the tuck-and-roll upholstered seat, the X also gains an extra 700ml tank capacity over the standard version.
Carried over from the standard model is ABS as well as Suzuki’s Low-RPM Assist and one-touch start systems.
The SV650X will be available in the second quarter of 2018, with colours and pricing still yet to be confirmed by Suzuki Australia.
