Yamaha has bolstered its popular MT-09 Tracer with updates for the 2018 model year, as well as adding a new GT variant.
Announced at this year’s EICMA show, changes across the range will include a longer swingarm and revised settings to the rear shock for improved stability, while ergonomics have been tweaked thanks to a re-sculptured seat and a slightly narrower handlebar.
The pillion gets some attention, too, with new a grab bar and passenger footpegs, with the rest of the changes only cosmetic headed by a newly designed front cowl and side panels.
The MT-09 Tracer GT adds a bit of extra length to the legs of the already touring capable Tracer, the GT model gets cruise control, heated grips and a quickshifter as standard fitment, as well as a full-colour TFT instrument cluster.
No word yet on the prices and availability of the updated range, but considering how popular the triple-cylinder platform is, we’re expecting pricing to be competitive.
