Following on from the 1972 Z1-inspired Z900RS Kawasaki unveiled in Tokyo two weeks ago, the Japanese firm unveiled second retro-styled machine at this week’s EICMA show in Milan, called the Z900RS Cafe.
As well as the striking green and white colour scheme which harks backs to the firm’s race bikes of the 60s and 70s, the Z900 Cafe gets clip-on style bars, a bikini fairing and a hump in the rear of the seat for a more racer-inspired look.
Like the standard Z900 it’s based on, the Z900RS Cafe is powered by a 948cc inline-four cylinder engine capable of 111hp and 73Nm of torque, and it boasts ABS, traction control and a slipper clutch.
“Kawasaki took its time to enter the modern classic scene but the wait was worthwhile,” the firm’s European head honcho Morihiro Ikoma said during the reveal.
