Suzuki’s Gladius 645cc V-twin has been heavily updated for 2016 which coincides with the Japanese company opting to revert back to the SV650 name, the original moniker used when the V-twin-powered range was launched back in 1999.
Unveiled at EICMA in Milan, 60 new engine updates and 70 changes to the chassis sees an all-round smaller bike, which will be available in LAMS-approved spec here in Australia.
Already Euro4 compliant, the engine gets a slight power hike as a result of the changes on top of the expected fuel consumption improvements.
The new SV650 boasts an anti-lock braking, 'Low-RPM Assist' which increases the engine’s rpm when taking off or in slow riding conditions, and the brand’s Easy Start System which debuted on the GSX-S1000.
Suzuki showed white, red, blue and black versions of the mid-sized nakedbike though it is unclear which colours will be available Down Under. Pricing and availability will be announced soon.
