Triumph has just unveiled six updated variants of its 1200cc Explorer range in Milan announcing three models of both the road-biased Explorer XR range (cast wheels) and the off-road biased Explorer XC range (wire wheels).
While there is limited information on the specific differences between each model, the big news is both of the higher-spec models from both ranges will come equipped with a swag of electronics including semi-active suspension, corner optimised anti-lock braking, traction control, up to five selectable engine maps, hill hold control and an internal measurement unit to get the most out of the rider aids.
And it’s those four models which are headed to Australia after Triumph Australia confirmed to Bikesales it will not import the base XR and XC models, opting only for the XRc, XRt, Xcx and XCa variants as the Australian marketplace’s interests are skewed towards higher-spec machinery.
All six models are powered by a triple cylinder 1215cc engine and shaft final drive, and will feature an electrically-adjustable screen.
Like the firm’s similarly-named Tiger 800 range, the two different monikers will refer to varying levels of add-ons which come as standard fitment on the bikes. We’ll update you on the specific specification of each model as the information becomes available.
