Moto Guzzi's expanded its motorcycle range, unveiling a new V9 series in Milan overnight that will come in two forms: the V9 Roamer and V9 Bobber.
Like all Moto Guzzis, the V9s will come out of the company's manufacturing plant at Mandello del Lario, with the Roamer taking an evolutionary path from the Nevada, while the Bobber strips away the "elegance" of its sibling for a more bare-bones black-dominated narrative.
The 851cc, transverse V-twin engine is Euro 4 compliant, and comes with two-channel anti-lock braking and traction control. Other standard features include an immobiliser and USB port located under the steering head.
The engine has a new aluminium crankcase, and in the upper part of the powerplant new aluminium heads, pistons and cylinders are designed to make the most of the engine's characteristics. The capacity is provided by bore and stroke of 84mm x 77mm, and it's capable of 62Nm at 3000rpm and 55hp at 6550rpm.
There's a dry clutch, the six-speed gearbox is new, and the final drive is a double-jointed drive shaft, matched to a cast aluminium swingarm. The frame is a steel twin tube design, and the suspension is a combination of upside-down forks and a new pair of preload-adjustable shock absorbers.
The "cosmopolitan custom" Roamer's rims are painted matt black and treated with a diamond-cut finish, and it has a multi-function digital dashboard with a single circular dial. The Bobber meanwhile abandons all chrome plating and glossy finishes with black touches the new choice, interspersed with just a few graphic details in yellow or matt red. Of course, the mudguard has been shortened to pay homage to the bobber narrative.
The Roamer will come in two liveries, both glossy: Giallo Solare with black inserts, and Bianco Classico with red. The Bobber's matt finish is available in Nero Massiccio with yellow inserts or Grigio Sport with red inserts.
