EICMA 2015: Husqvarna nakedbike
Husqvarna teases 2017 690cc naked, powered by the KTM 690 Duke engineFollowing on from the recently released 701 Enduro and 701 Supermoto models, Husqvarna used the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan to unveil its Vitpilen 701 concept overnight.
The stripped-bare road bike is one of the brand’s first road-going models since KTM ownership and is expected to launch as a production model for the 2017 model year alongside the Vitipilen 401 which was launched as a concept this time last year.
The bike is powered by the KTM Duke 690cc single-cylinder engine (likewise the Vitpilen 401 is powered by the 390cc single) and it designed to have as little body work as possible.
According to the Swedish brand, the 701 Vitpilen has “a level of simplicity that seems to have been lost amongst the flash, hype and hyperbole of modern motorcycle design,” though the concept looks pretty flash to us.
The Vitpilen line-up, which is Swedish for white arrow, looks set to be joined by a small capacity 125 version, no doubt powered by the Bajaj-produced 125cc single from the smallest Duke model.
