Forget the term super naked, Bimota unveiled the Impeto naked at EICMA overnight which it refers to as a hyper naked.
Powered by the Ducati twin-spark 1198cc Testastretta engine found in the Diavel and equipped with ride-by-wire, traction control and anti-lock braking, in typical Bimota style it’s adorned with top-shelf componentry. Ohlins takes care of the suspension at both ends, Brembo looks after the braking.
But if the top-shelf isn’t high enough, the firm is offering an optional Bimota Experience package which swaps out the frame and swingarm for a spiffy carbon fibre version.
Cleverly, the Italian brand has responded to another emerging trend in the marketplace and is offering an optional supercharger for the hyper naked which will boost power and torque outputs by a considerable 15-20 per cent.
Like many other brands, Bimota also pulled the covers of a cafe racer version of an existing machine at EICMA in Milan overnight. The Bimota Tesi 3D RaceCafe is still powered by the previous hypermotard’s 803cc engine but some heavy aesthetic modifications sees the Italian brand jumping on the popular cafe racer band wagon.
Owners can customise the RaceCafe’s ride height via eccentric adjusters where the suspension is bolted on to the front and rear swingarms. The front has 9.5mm of adjustability and the rear has 14mm.
Lastly, following on from the lacklustre response towards last year’s BMW-powered BB3 superbike, the Italian brand is offering a build-your-own kit. In other words, you source the engine and the electronics and it’ll supply the rest.
Prices and availability in Australia will be announced soon.
