EICMA 2015: 2016 Indian Scout Sixty

A smaller, more accessible version of Indian’s Scout

A lower-capacity Indian Scout will join the successful current model as of next year with the American brand whipping the covers of the Scout Sixty in Milan overnight.

Powered by a 999cc V-twin (or 60 cubic inches, hence the name), the 246kg (dry) cruiser has a claimed power output of 78hp (58kW), but more importantly, a claimed torque capability of 88Nm.

As if the 1133cc Scout wasn’t accessible to most riders already, the Scout Sixty has a seat height of just 643mm and the adjustable footpegs as well as handlebar and seat options allowing adjustable ergonomics, a common theme emerging among 2016 machinery.

The Indian Scout Sixty will carry a price tag  of $17,995 rideaway and will be available in black, red or white colour schemes. Keep an eye out at this weekend’s Superprestigio of the Americas event, where five Roland Sands-customised versions of the Scout Sixty will be raced in the Super Hooligan class. The event will be held at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas on 21 November.
