EICMA 2013: Peugeot Django

Calling on the style of its first scooter, the S55, next year Peugeot will release the Django

Peugeot Scooters is changing key next year with a trend-breaking styling exercise halfway between the traditional and modern.

It is called Django, a neo-retro scooter that, 60 years on, resurrects the styling of the S55/S57. Created in the early 1950s, at the time the S55 was a very comfortable and well-equipped two-seater scooter with genuine practical qualities. It was the very first scooter marketed by Peugeot and over time evolved into the S57. As a symbol of freedom and French elegance, the designers have taken their inspiration from this scooter to create the silhouette of the Django.

Peugeot says that above all, Django is an elegant creation. "The most demanding observers will appreciate the styling hints of the past and the refinement of a vehicle on which nothing has been left to chance," says the blurb. Standing solidly on its 12’’ wheels, Django is characterised by its well-rounded rear wings punctuated by three air intakes, and its long, flowing bodywork.

Django will be available in three different capacities: 50, 125 or 150cc
