Ducati has lifted the lid off its latest Monster – the 1200.
The 1200 and 1200S will be powered by the company’s 1198 Testastretta 11 engine, evoking memories of power-packed past models such as the S4R and S4RS.
The Monster 1200s have high-spec brakes and suspension, a single-sided swingarm, lightweight wheels, adjustable seat height, TFT instrumentation, eight-level traction control, three-level anti-lock braking and three-level ride-by-wire riding modes.
There’s a larger fuel tank, slim waist and compact headlamp, which Ducati likens to “the overall silhouette of a powerful bull ready to charge”. Finishing touches include transparent master cylinder reservoirs.
The S model produces 145hp with 12.7kg-m of torque, and tips the scales at 182kg.
The Monster 1200 is presented in Ducati red with red frame and black wheels, while the Monster 1200 S offers Ducati red with red frame and glossy black wheels in addition to white with bronze-coloured frame and glossy black wheels.
