Dymag wheels resurrected

One of the most famous mag wheel makers, Dymag, has returned from the hereafter, and is making carbon and magnesium wheels for all and sundry

Dymag wheels were the bees knees back in the day, the company starting production of its motorcycle rims in the 1970s, but the company folded 2009 and was thought to be dead and buried.

Well, they're back, with all assets having been acquired by CSA International and now the company is cranking out flash-looking wheels ideal for custom bikes and factory spec models alike.

Now manufactured in the UK, several new wheel designs are available, some made from magnesium, some made from carbon. The company says that it's range of "Dymag performance motorcycle wheels" will be offered through its new product website at Dymag.com.

The company says all Dymag wheels "are available for most fitments and are certified for racing and road use including DOT and JWL" and adds that it can offer complete design packages "for special motorcycle and car projects, as well as a full refurbishment service for all motorcycle and car wheels."

Dymag can be credited with creating the world's first three-spoke magnesium racing wheel, which was eventually used by the legendary Eddie Lawson, who went on to win the AMA Superbike Championship in 1981 and 1982 , as well as the World Motorcycle GP Championship in 1984.

The Chairman of CSA International, Chris Shelley, had this to say about the Dymag revival: "Dymag is a legendary brand respected by racing and bike enthusiasts across the globe for design and performance excellence. We are currently investing heavily in new production processes and equipment to modernise the manufacturing process and shorten delivery lead times.

"Dymag’s strength has always been its racing pedigree and innovative designs,” continued Shelley. "We possess the most comprehensive collection of designs for motorcycles dating back over 4 decades. Our mission is to fuse the passion and innovation of this iconic brand with 21st century production and customer services."
