We're days away from the opening of World Ducati Week 2016, where Ducati will reveal not one but two new models to those lucky enough to make the pilgrimage to Marco Simoncelli Misano World Circuit over July 1 to 3.
Ducati has announced it will reveal a special Ducati 90th Anniversary model in the midst of the festivities, while also hosting a 'closed room' preview of one of the new 2017 line-up.
While Ducati isn't offering any further details on the two bikes, it's likely the 90th anniversary model will be an ultra-exotic take on the marque's Panigale 1299 flagship. As for the new 2017 model? Well, that's anyone's guess, although automotive news outlet motoroids suggest it could be a bigger-bore version of the new Scrambler retro.
Such a beast could utilise the 1078cc L-twin two-valve, Desmodromic air-cooled engine from the Monster 110, which produces 95hp and 102.9Nm.
The 2014 edition of World Ducati Week attracted 65,000 participants, and this year could set a new record at one of the Italian Riviera's top destinations.
As part of the festivities, there will be a number of races involving Ducati riders, including Aussie world championship-winning pair Troy Bayliss and Casey Stoner.
Friday evening kicks off with a Scrambler Ducati flat track race with riders including Andrea Dovizioso, Davide Giugliano, Bayliss, Danilo Petrucci, Yonny Hernandez and Ruben Xaus battling it out on a 1km track.
On Saturday it's a drag racing competition on Diavel Carbons, with Stoner joining this one alongside Andrea Iannone, Dovizioso, Loris Capirossi, Chaz Davies, Regis Laconi, Scott Redding and Hector Barbera.
And there's more than bikes... Four-wheeled thrills will also be available courtesy of Audi and Lamborghini, with everyone getting the chance to enjoy a hair-raising high speed lap of the track alongside a professional racing driver.
