2020 Ducati Streetfighter V4 pricing announced

The Ducati Streetfighter V4 is expected to hit Australian mid-2020 with a price tag of $29,500 for the standard variant, and $33,900 for the S version.

Derived directly from the Panigale V4, the new Ducati naked bike revives the Streetfighter moniker that first appeared in 2009.

At the heart of the new machine is the 1103cc Desmosedici Stradale engine that is inspired by the V4 MotoGP powerplant.

In its Streetfighter V4 form, the Stradale motor puts out a claimed 208hp at 12,750rpm and 123Nm at 11,500rpm – figures that are tantalisingly close to the Panigale V4.

Another feature of the new Streetfighter is the Ducati Corse biplane wings. With aerodynamics developed using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation, the specially designed biplane wings are for increased stability at high-speed and when braking, reduced wheel-up during acceleration and minimised electronic control of the suspension set-up.

The Streetfighter uses Ducati’s Front-Frame chassis technology, which is also inspired by the marque’s MotoGP experience. The Front-Frame uses the engine as a load-bearing element.

As for suspension, the Streetfighter V4 features 43mm Showa Big Piston Fork (BPF) with full adjustability in spring pre-load and compression and rebound damping, and a full-adjustable Sachs shock absorber. The V4 S features an Ohlins NIX-30 fork and an Ohlins TTX36 rear shock.

Arguably the most mouth-watering feature of the new Streetfighter V4 range, is the MotoGP-derived electronics package. Based on a 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (6D IMU), which instantly detects the bikes roll, yaw and pitch angles, the electronics package gives the rider enormous control over the bikes performance.

The bike features ABS Cornering EVO, Ducati Traction Control EVO 2, Ducati Slide Control, Ducati Wheelie Control EVO, Ducati Power Launch, Ducati Quick Shift EVO 2, Engine Brake Control EVO and Ducati Electronic Suspension EVO. There are three standard ride modes with default settings, although riders are able to personalise parameters.

The Streetfighter V4 features the same 5-inch full TFT high-resolution colour dash as the Panigale V4.

There are several plug-and-play optional extras for the Streetfighter V4 as well, including Ducati Lap Timer GPS, Ducati Data Analyser +GPS and the Ducati Multimedia System.
