Surrounded by hype, excitement, and anticipation, Ducati's upcoming 2011 power cruiser was recently spotted again in Italy.
On it's side.
Reports suggest the pre-production motorcycle was hit by another motorist, and the test rider was not badly injured.
While the incident is unfortunate for the rider and Ducati, the images of the aftermath provide a couple of new clues as the power cruiser's design.
Take the headlight for example – it now seems highly likely that it will feature a circular headlight bezel bisected by a horizontal strip of LED daytime running lights. It's also got a chunky fuel tank featuring a pair of air ducts that sit below but protrude forward of the handlebars. The seat is also ultra-stubby, adding to the Ducati's muscle bike appeal.
The chain-driven Italian power cruiser makes use of side-mounted radiators, monobloc Brembo brakes, upside-down forks, plus a single-sided swingarm bookended by a massive 240-section Pirelli rear tyre.
As yet the new Ducati still has not been given a name, and as previously reported, Diavel name has still not been confirmed.
