Ducati Monster 821

The Italian company has announced the latest addition to the popular Monster family, complete with the 112hp second generation Testastretta engine

Ducati has announced a new mid-size motorcycle – the Monster 821.

The machine utilises the Testastretta 11° engine that has already featured in the company’s latest Hypermotard, producing 112hp and 89Nm. The 821 has an integrated trellis frame, with the engine used a stressed member.

Electronics include eight-level traction control, three-level anti-lock braking and three different riding modes through the ride-by-wire throttle. The package is similar to that found on the new Monster 1200.

The bike will be available in Australia from August, 2014. The Monster 821 Dark will be presented in dark stealth with black frame and black wheels, while the Monster 821 is dressed in Ducati red with red frame and black wheels or star white silk with red frame and matte red wheels. Both the red and white liveries are equipped with colour-matched single-seat covers.
